Abstract

Fracture impact on fluid flow needs to be accounted for in any subsurface study involving fractured reservoirs, be it for oil and gas production, geothermy or carbon storage. This implies building simulation grids which include fractures as discrete interfaces providing an extra degree of freedom and where physical properties such as aperture can be located and queried by simulators.
