Introducing Gravity and Compaction effects into 3D Restoration with gOcad

in: 26th gOcad Meeting, ASGA

Abstract

The aim of this work is to discuss and to implement two physical mechanisms in the restoration of a sedimentary deformation. These processes are : the gravity, which can modify the behavior of non-consolidated sediments, already studied for specific cases and the compaction effects, a main process affecting clay and silico-clastic sediments. It is also presented discussions led in the bibliography on behavior laws for compacted salt sediments. The aim is to prepare a work on the volumetric restoration of complex salt diapirs.
