Abstract

The development of CO2 capture and storage projects is a major challenge coming in the next few years. To tackle this challenge, the 3D modeling and monitoring of the physical phenomena occurring during CO2 injection are a key step. The desire to represent several phenomena (flows, thermal effects, geomechanical effects) on the same model calls for the use of a unique mesh as a support for the physical simulations. A fully tetrahedral mesh appears as a good solution, as a lot of work has been done to handle such meshes and to adapt them to different constraints.
