Abstract

The ability to do velocity analysis. property distribution or seismic inversion implies the ability to build a consistent 3-D Earth Model. Building a topologically sealed 3D Earth Model is not enough however if we want to take into account new seismic interpretations or new well information (cf [1]). To do so, we need to have the appropriate set of tools: the "uncut" operation. which allows us to mend scars and the "cut with constraints" operation, which allows us to intersect surfaces along a defined geological contact.
