Abstract
The correlation of facies in continental carbonates – particularly lacustrine and palustrine carbonates –is notably difficult due to their pronounced heterogeneity, frequent discontinuities, and potential diagenetic or structural overprints. These factors often lead to lateral facies transitions over sub-meter scales, complicating the construction of coherent stratigraphic models. In this context, high-resolution datasets concentrated within small areas are essential to capture this variability and, ultimately, make it possible to improve geological models in such environments.
