Abstract
The purpose of this study is to utilize one complex geological 3D model for numerical simulations of
various physical processes in process-specific simulation software. We provide a workflow for how to
generate hexahedral, tetrahedral and spherical volume representations of the geometry. We utilized the
volume representations to simulate temperature, displacement and transient electromagnetic fields.
Additionally, we provide a workflow showing how to visualize and analyze the simulation results
simultaneously. The scientific visualization is an important prerequisite for using geological 3D models in
complex geological investigations.
