New SGrid Cut Algorithm and Structures

Abstract

The GOCAD Stratigraphic Grid (or SGrid) tool, fulfills the needs for several geoscience activities : reservoir, geostatistics, geophysics .... If the aim of this type of grid is to take into account lithology and stratigraphy, these grids also need to support other structural information such as fault, to give better representations and simulation results. The aim of our work was to reorganize and simplifY the faulted SGrid structure and its building during the cut algorithm. Moreover this new faulted SGrid structure, needs to be more independent trom the cut itself, in order to a1low other building methods (multigrid, import) and constraint management.
