Abstract

The Campo de Dalias, located in the Internal Zones of Betic Cordillera, constitutes the largest outcrop of Neogene and Quaternary sediments deposited on the Alpujarride Complex of the northern margin of the Alboran Sea. These sediments represent excellent markers to analyze the tectonic deformation of this sector which is characterized by active large folds and normal faults with associated seismicity. The aim of this work is to build a 3D geologic model using Gocad software with surface and subsurface data as inputs in order to constraint their geometry as starting point to a future quantitative strain analysis. The surface data correspond to the outcropping sedimentary units bounded by unconformities, faults, and fold traces obtained from geological mapping. These geological contacts has been visualized and slightly modified in Gocad using digital elevation models and orthophotos. A compilation of about 160 wells with lithologic columns made possible to include the well markers of the main depositional contacts and uncorformities in a 3D Gocad model. In addition, the interpretation of a 2D multichannel reflection seismic that covers the region allows characterizing the main lithoseismic units. In order to make a timedepth conversion of the interpreted reflectors a voxet has been built with the seismic RMS velocities and time-depth data from wells. The obtained 3D structural model shows the spatial distribution of the mains lithostratigraphic units
