A set of tools in gOscope to extract faults

in: 23th gOcad Meeting, ASGA

Abstract

This paper presents a set of tools developed in the frame of the gOscope plug-in of the gOcad project in order to help the geologist in extracting faults from a seismic cube. First, we present the computing of a new property representative of the faulted fields. Second, we introduce some small tools dedicated to suppress noise and to fine down the resulting property around faults. Third, we show how we use the Auto Adaptative Filter in this case to interpolate the property and to compute the normal of the fault all along it. And finally, we present the last tool used to extract nodes on each fault. The different steps along the presentation are illustrated by an application on a real case.
