Channel Simulation in a Depositional Environment, Constrained by Well Data

Abstract

During the last gOcad-meeting, a new approach has been presented concerning the boolean stochastic simulation of fluvial sediments. This new approach has been proposed to tack/e some common problems met during most of the general methods used to simula te fluvial bodies. The main problems may be summarized as generating simulations that perfectly honor weil data in an efficient way. The method we have proposed during the last gOcad-meeting meets these constraints and 3D modelings of fluvial bodies have been obtained in a reasonnable time. M oreover, the generated fluvial abjects perfectly fit the weil data. But when the used process has been run from weil data according ta the dimensions of the simulated abjects, conflicts appear. Then, in this paper, a new algorithm is proposed. It uses in fact the main key princip les that are used during the previous algorithm but in a deeper way.
