Abstract

ln a geostatistical framework, the seismic data is incorporated into simulation or estimation techniques as soft or secondary data. In this paper we propose a three-stage approach aimed on maximizing the correlation between the hard and soft data by tuming the seismic data into high correlated average geological information. First, a statistical cluster analysis of seismic attributes is applied to identify the different seismic patterns. Then, the seismic classification resuit is geologically edited based on the calibration of seismic clusters with the reservoir property at the wells locations. Finally, averaged reservoir property 3D model is defined by direct mapping of weil property through calibrated seismic clusters. This approach has been applied to field example to estimate the 3D distribution of porosity within the reservoir interval. A collocated cokriging technique has been used to integrate the hard weil porosity data and soft seismic-derived avera$ed porosity data.
