Abstract

Allloco Research has an ongoing study to evaluate and develop ideas and procedures to achieve illlproved 3-D methods. Part of the strategy for achieving this objective is to compute realistic seismic model data to test different acquisition and processing procedures in the controlled environment enabled by su ch data. Currently this strategy is being addressed by the SEGIEAEG Modeling effort. However, we were interested in determining the cost/benetits of a private company taking on a similar 3-D modeling project. Therefore, the creation of a complex 3-D Thrust Model was necessary to meet our objectives.
