Abstract

We present a. method for building a G2 surface from a set of triangles. The input data may be any triangulated surface, including GQCAD surfaces, that can be obtained by using the Discrete Smooth Interpolation (abbreviated DSI). The combined use of DSI and Bézier patches allows ta obtain a continuons smooth surface from a set of points and constraÏnts. G2 continuity will be approximated by computing the Dormais at each vertex using DSL Second order erraI being minimal can be expressed as a new DSI constraint.
