Jeremie Giraud


I have been studying towards a PhD degree between 2015 and 2018 after about 3 years in the oil and gas industry (Schlumberger). My PhD focused on the development of an inverse modelling workflow utilizing geological, petrophysical, geophysical data and uncertainty information. I have been working on this topic ever since. During my postdoc at the Centre for Exploration Targeting (the University of Western Australia, Perth), I was part of the MinEx CRC (project 6: Automated modelling) and Loop consortia, and I was leading the Geophysical Integration work package of the Loop consortium.

I am now a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellow at GeoRessources (Université de Lorraine), as part of the RING team, and I maintain professional ties with the University of Western Australia (Perth, Australia) as an Adjunct Research Fellow and through the supervision of PhD students.

My research interests include the integration of different geoscience disciplines through joint and/or constrained inversion using geological modeling and petrophysical information. My interests also include the utilisation of techniques from other fields in geophysical inversion such as, but not limited to, image processing techniques, statistical tools, and algorithms developed for data sciences and machine learning. Last, I am also working on the quantitative reconstruction of geological models from geophysical inversion using information from geophysical models, geological modeling and well information.
